San Dieguito River Park is an amazing project that provides endless hiking and strolling and bicycle riding and horseback riding - not to mention photography. For this easy hike we parked off of I-15 in Escondido and walked under the I-15 overpass, along the shores of Lake Hodges. We also ventured East and saw the Sikes Adobe farmhouse with it’s native plant garden. The trail winds all the way up to San Pasqual, near the San Diego Wild animal Park.
